The Simpsons Movie: Last 2-D cartoon movie in theaters?

Definitely not.

With The Princess and the Frog, The Simpsons Movie won't be the last traditionally animated film in theaters. I'm sure Disney will continue making more traditional films afterward.

Despite The Simpsons monstrous success at the box office. I don't really see it as "saving 2D" or "reviving 2-D animated films". I mean really its The Simpsons...You could just put a picture of Homer on the screen for an hour and a half and it would still take in over $150 million.

As others have stated Disney is making a new 2-D animated musical for theaters as we speak. Also if "The Princess and the Frog" is a hit it probably won't be the last ether.

I love 2D Animations, I hope it doesn't die, because I don't want see CGI stuff running around in head all the time. I don't really care for Flash animations they look so.... flat like papper pupplets. But someday I'll have to get ues to them, like in the future. :D

Yea, I listened to an interview with the founder of Pixar a while back, and he expressed his fondness for traditional animation. He even said he would love to do a fully 2D project, and he basically owns Pixar so fat chance of it ever going anywhere. I'm sure there are plenty of other people within the company who feel the same way.

Well, if I was cartoonest of animations, I swar I'll have own animation studio; I can do 2D and 3D animation cartoons, hopelly. :)
