Bart “Just when you think I’m out of ideas.”
Just when I thought you were out of good episodes.
I haven’t liked one this much in a while, so I had to get a review in.
We’ve seen Lisa pining away for a better school before, but sometimes being your best takes more then hard work and sacrifice, it can also take a measure of being ruthless and selfish.
Homer shows considerable insight that sooner or later everyone runs into their Homer.
Even though she was able to sacrifice her beloved saxaphone, it was too much to see her mother work like a slave.
I guess people would like to seen more elaboration on this, but once Marge and Lisa saw the situation they saw the solution and didn’t need to mull it over, ask permission or make a big deal. They just made the sacrifice. Mans Game.
And I loved how Marge managed to come up with advice that actually helped Bart.
Also, plenty of laughs.
Misdirection of the Imaginatorium.
Nelson hop-scotching as he ran away in tears.
Candy cigar and bubble gum smoke ring.
Nelson punching the thought bubble.
Maggie going nuts over the promotion for BabyMustHave.
And Homer looked a bit charming with his goofiness in the year book.
I don't think one washer running 24 hours a day would be able to handle that mountain. Have you ever done much laundry with the ironing and folding? Frankly, if I haven't. Ironing is too damn much work. Looked like a job for many people.
Also: there are always oil spills happening. It's not some sort of pop culture reference that should soon be forgotten.
There is no need to know the history of the Exxon Valdez or British Petroleum for the joke to work. It's just unfortunate if you don't.
