The Simpsons - "Homer the Father" - Talkback [1/23]

I thought it was interesting how Homer was taking parenting advice from a show from the 80s. The CIA, FBI and ATF trucks were funny to see. Homer with the lazer was hilarious. To bad Bart hadn't realized if he hung out with Homer they could bond and Bart would get the motorbike in the end instead he sold out to China. Homer understanding other languages when they talk about food is weird but funny. The Itchy and Scratchy cartoon at the end was a good one.

(scratches head) I'm not seeing what many of you are. I watched this episode on Fox.com simply because it got rave reviews here, and didn't laugh once. Seemed like typical modern Simpsons to me. If this was supposedly the best episode in a while, I'm glad I haven't regularly tuned in since the start of season 20.

The epsiode was excellent. It's up with Lisa Simpson, This Isn't Your Life as bests of the season. The plot was coherent, outlandish but the pacing felt ok (until Homer went to china, it sped up there). Homer & Bart where in character. The jokes where there (Rod & Todd hearing Homer & Marge have sex, Bart & Lisa's chat in Skype, the fresh alien of Bel-Air, "this would be a perfect time for an actbreak..", Bart's letters (specially Hoochies, Hoochietown USA), the agencies (CIA - Chinese Intelligence in America), "He's buying it" "I'm buying it!", Homer with the eye scanner, "DON't read our subtitles!", Homer understanding food talk on every language & "My feet hurt". So props writers, and keep it up. 10/10.
