The Simpsons go Political?

Yeah but I personally think more families are like the Simpsons than the Waltons or whatever.

I agree that they have always had controversies even back then there just not that controversal today. Even has far as season 2 there had been talks about politics. Which I don't mind.

I always thought the show has had its controversies since way back then. Not that I'm against it of course.

Kind of like the episode "Homer's Phobia". Or when George Bush Sr. made that remark about how The Simpsons was not exactly an ideal American Family.

I am a huge fan of the Simpsons up until recent times.

In the last few episodes I have noticed an escape from the lighthearted equal opportunity offender status of previous seasons and a new shift toward what seems to be politically motivated undertones and dialogue. Sometimes it is even blatant.

I find this shift in writing to be very discouraging. If I wanted to be told which side of an issue to be on I would go back to college for my indoctrination. To have political ideas reguarly rammed down my throat and have to explain to children what was meant by blatant anti-Iraq propaganda among other issues is ridiculous. There I said it, I used the word propaganda. Now my opinion that the Simpsons of recent times has become yet another media propaganda tool for the left is out.

Respectfully,

Paul
