The Simpsons - "Eeny Teeny Maya Moe" - Talkback [4/5]

OK really, that was just plain sweet. Yeah - they didn't get together in the end but you can't have a heart and not went "aww" at that at least once given how it turned out.

Also - a GOOD Moe episode? Didn't think it was possible.

What a sweet, little episode. It wasnt the funnist thing in the world, but after what we've been getting these last couple of seasons, it was a pleasent change of pace. I rather liked it, but I do thing Maya leaving Moe was rushed. Still...that was nice.

Dang, I missed this episode...
...guess I'll just have to watch it on Hulu tomorrow..
From reading this discussion, I can tell this was an interesting episode. Seriously, Dr Nick? He got stabbed by a glass shard of the dome in the movie!
Ah well, continuity means nothing in The Simpsons.

If something takes an entire episode (Such as Maudes and Bleeding Gums Murphys deaths, Kirk and Luannes divorce, etc.), then it generally sticks. Also, what about Martin?

I actually did end up watching it. And yeah this one wasn't really that bad at all.

However...

Maya breaking up with Moe was just really badly handled, which honestly didn't surprise me. She seemed to have no problem poking fun at herself, even going as far as pretending she was a doll in order to scare Moe. Yet the instant Moe goes even a little too far with the short jokes Maya gets offended and throws their entire relationship away by breaking up with him. That just struck me as lazy writing, unless the writers have no idea about how real life relationships and break-ups work.

The Maggie stuff was cute though, as it always is.

I don't really mind the whole Dr. Nick thing. Hans Moleman has died more times than I can count. Anyway that was a fantastic episode! Not that many laughs, but incredibly sweet. My only complaint was that Maya leaving Moe felt incredibly rushed but aside from that it was great. A great ending as well.
