A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Holy crap, now that you bring up that episode it does sound a lot a like.
Seems like there repeating themselves in ideas. The only episode I'm looking forward to this year is Bob Next Door, there always the best of the season.

Keep in mind that the stolen art bit is just a set-up for the main plot line, which involves Smithers taking over the power plant while Mr. Burns is away.

This episode has been rather disgusting. First a joke where a guy breaks his leg with a hammer, then we get Bart's line about pooing inside of Lisa. Knock it off guys, you're making South Park jealous.

WOW, DID THIS EPISODE BLOW!!!

No humor, making fun of Jesus (AGAIN!?!? SERIOUSLY!?!), kevin michael richardson wasting his talent, the bart-lisa-ant farm subplot was boring and pointless, the idea of smithers running the plant went from a good idea to wasted potential.

I rate this: 2.5/5 for being a good idea that went nowhere, compared to "The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed" which was crap that became worse.

I love this show, but man it's gotta get better. And the Jesus jokes are really lame. Let's see cartoons like the Simpsons and Family Guy make fun of Mohammed for a change. You know, something gutsy.

I thought it was a great improvement over last week's.

I actually thought there were some good jokes in this episode... Though apparently my opinion is shared by few.

Haven't watched it yet, but I can tell just by the summary it'll be bad. Smacks of the far better seventh season Homer the Smithers.

I can understand some of the disappointment that people may have with episode, given how "Smithers running the Power Plant" was a story that had a lot of potential that ends up getting wasted. My response to this:

1. It looks like the main focus of the episode wasn't Smithers running the plant, but rather rather Mr. Burns spending some time in jail, and in the end, that storyline had a lot of good jokes (i. e. Burns, as he narrates the flashback, inserting some "daydreams involving a sports car, some footwear, and a blue pill" just we get to the part where the flashback ends; the warden's helium addiction; the black prisoner mistaking Charles Manson for Jesus).

2. A lot of the blame for the wasted potential of the Smithers sub-plot can be put on the writers deciding to include a third sub-plot involving Bart and Lisa taking care of an ant farm. Outside of Homer mistaking the death of Lisa's ants as Patty and Selma's death and the background shot of Marge carrying cat food as Lisa talks about how the last surviving ant is on its last legs, the storyline felt more like something added to give Bart and Lisa some screen time in the episode. Also wasting episode time: the whole bit where "Flanderized" Marge is against Bart and Homer throwing rotten vegetables (and the bit where she makes Homer eat a rotted jack-o-lantern).

In the end, could this episode been better? Heck yeah, as we could have dropped the ant farm storyline and instead focus more on Smithers running the plant. However, I found the main focus of the episode (Burns in prison) to be decent.

Aww, I thought this one was really great, actually. Main plot, at least; subplots didn't really go anywhere but I didn't mind them too much. But Burns in prison was FANTASTIC, with a lot of good jokes and gags. Charles Manson mistaken for Jesus, the warden's Helium, the whole "I haven't had a cavity for 40 years" thing - THAT one in particular had me rolling.

Solid episode. I really enjoyed it.
