Bart joins the 4-H club and falls in love with a cow named Lou, but when he finds out that Lou is destined for the slaughterhouse Bart gives the cow to Mary, a fellow 4-H member, and her father mistakes the cow for a dowry. Homer and Marge come to the rescue to try and free Bart from his marriage agreement.

Haha, very funny beginnings on this one. The Wikipedia slam, though kinda old, was funny.

"But Wikipedia said he was passionate about his work!"
"Don't you worry about Wikipedia...we'll change it when we get home. We'll change a LOT of things."

Also, Bart threshing the manure and shooting out copies of Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

Lou licking Bart with the growth hormone was worth a chuckle.

This episode's been good so far, and it hasn't really strayed from the main plot for something completely random.

Was that... a sentimental ending?

And an actual funny joke that doesn't completely ruin it?

I'm in shock.

Seriously.

That was a great episode.

"I was 13 when I married your father."
"Yeah, and you'd already been divorced 4 times."

"You are now entering the killing floor."

"For once in my life...I had a cow, man."

I know the Simpsons has its ups and downs but really: This episode was hilarious simply because it was just so incredibly silly. I hadn't laughed this hard since classic. Dropping Homer off at the Slaughter House had me in stitches. I also liked the resolution with Apu and the Casablanca reference. I mean really - "Here's lookin' at you 'cud'"? LOL

And the other thing - the ending wasn't abrupt and WTF. It was sentimental, needed no joke, and wasn't forced. Really, after the movie they've been getting gradually better with each episode barring some humps here and there. Haven't been this pleased with a Simpsons ep in quite a long time.

My roommate thinks it was too.

Tonight was a good episode a lot of visual gags, and funny situations that are left to the viewers imagination, like Bart stirring his lemonade with a sausage.

"For once I can say, I had a cow, man.

Cute episode. The cow punching a side of beef like Rocky Balboa was funny. And the ending shot, with Bart saying, "For once in my life I DID have a cow, man" was fairly clever. But...maybe I missed something...in the preview for this ep, Fox showed a scene where Homer went through a lot more in the slaughterhouse than was shown in the actual episode. Did it get cut, or did I doze off and miss it, or what?

Other great gag was when Bart ran over the fertilizer with the haybaling machine, and out of the chute comes DVDs of "Pirates of the Carribbean 3". :D

Wow, now that felt like a classic episode. Good story that stayed on plot but had silliness added in. I guess the Simpsons still can make some great episodes.

This episode turned out better than I thought. It had some great hilarious moments that were memorable and fun. I especially liked the joke where Bart was threshing the manure and Pirates of the Carribean 3 came out. And the Tress MacNeille joke was so out there. Nice Episode.

This was garbage. Worst episode of the season. I'm surprised at all the positive comments here. I had to force myself to sit through it.

Man, I was total opposite. Second best of the season. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Some terrific silliness along with a very focused plot. And only 10% of the jokes missed, which is amazing for current era Simpsons. 10/10, 5/5...too bad Family Guy sucked, ruined a potentially great night. (because good Simpsons don't come often anymore)...

Is this The Simpsons or some Cartoon Network show that airs at 3 PM? Because it felt like the latter.

Look, I don't need the show to be super edgy, but a Casablanca ending parody (good to see them strike the iron while it's hot) featuring the line "Here's looking at you, cud" is really pushing it. I also have mixed feelings about the episode's various references to gags from much better episodes.

I don't particularly care to back these statements up with cold hard facts, so disagree if you want, but you're probably not going to change my opinion of this episode.
