Ok for my history homework I need to explain the first ten amendments in my own words. I'm stumped on the seventh amendment. In my history textbook it says the Seventh Amendment means "In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollar, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law" But I don't understand it. I need a kid friendly definition of this amendment something I could explain to a 5 year old or an 8 year old. I'm suppose to explain the amendments in my own words. O and this homework assignment is due tomorrow so thanks!
