The Secret Millionaire

It is a bit dubious - the contrast of salt of the earth poor with rich person on a lesson BUT I have always found it entertaining and I think a lot of the audience could benefit from learning that not all poor people are scum who deserve to be stuck where they are. The millionaires go on the ultimate anti-Thatcher journey and that sits just fine with me. I don't think there's any pretence about them wanting it to be secret; the show has been around long enough now that we all know the millionaires go on it knowing it will raise their profile if they do a good job.

Last night was a little unfortunate - all I remember is the hypocrisy of the bloke dying from alcohol who thought he was somehow a cut above the "junkies".

Yes but with the Real Hustle they film lots of people being conned with the same con and use the best to make the show. They always have done it that way. Any that say "Oi ain't you that one off that TV show that cons people?" don't make it to the show.

This programme sets up certain charities and if the charity smells a millionaire then it's show over.

I thought you were just giving the information out of the goodness of your heart and not in order to obtain our gratitude. ;)

Thanks anyway.

its like..........BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG
try and catch it on +1
its just like........4 normal big mansions, together...with like its own winding countryside path to it and 0258 acres of land.
and two lovely polish women who clean :)

was in the middle of nowhere....you could imagine henry VIII living there.

For those wondering...the young man with the clothes (Wayne) had too many other issues to deal with and really couldn't do anything business oriented at that time. Ben tried to help way beyond what any of you ever saw...but I guess some things have to be taken care of by ourselves.

With respect to documentation provided by the program makers...all crb and other related checks are provided prior to the person ever attending a premise where young people are concerned.

Generally speaking, the program shows around 40 minutes from about 40 to 80 hours of filmed footage where people talk about numerous other things that are perhaps more fitting to the original brief you get when they approach you. People do not just talk about money or lack of funding but those bits are picked out as they are appropriate to the actual intent of the program.

Just thought it might be useful to hear the actuality ;)

Not my fault, I read in the Guardian it was series 5 - and the article I read also mentioned that the makers behind Secret Millionaire were very sympathetic towarRAB the homeless issue and that was one of their favoured charities.

No need to get upset about it is there?

I thought that too but I suspect there isn't much overlap between the demographic the millionaires help and the demographic for the programme.
