The scene outside the parents house in Transformers...

SEE i almost made the mistake of going in to this movie expecting things i remember as a kid...then i realized they had to make it somewhat different

honestly..i thought it was fucking amazing and this is the first movie since Devil's Advocate i really just sat there and enjoyed

You're not going to try and say it's not cliche, are you? It's been done to death, ET, Gremlins, The Iron Giant, Herbie, Toy Story, etc. and so forth.

That scene essentially played out like every episode of Three's Company.

I thought the scene was hysterical.

i think you were just expecting way too much out of the movie and forgot to enjoy it for what it was.

it is the anatomy of a summer blockbuster, we all knew it wasn't going to win academy awards.

5 is plenty enough to prove my point. I could go on, but sorry I'm not a human rolodex, those are just the first couple that popped in my mind....that and like I said, EVERY fucking episode of Three's company...ever.

I enjoyed some of the humor, but that scene has just been done to death. I enjoyed the first 1/3 of the movie as I've said in countless threads/posts.

...and why shouldn't I expect more out of a movie...which leads to this nonsense...

This is a cop out. With the following the franchise has and the budget this movie got we should have absolutely expected more out of it. Why should we have to settle for some watered down, cookie cutter movie that's been tailor suited to appease the lowest common denominator through board meetings and focus groups?

If they weren't so fucking worried about patching together scenes that tested well in focus groups, perhaps they would have remembered that they were telling some semblance of a story

why do you watch movies?
tell me if you've ever seen a movie that contains:
• end of the world
• boy hero
• fighting unknown beings
• hero's tries to save love interest
• citizens hooking up with military to save XXXXXXX
• a hero sacrificing himself
• weak person over coming all odds

let me guess, all cliche, overdone garbage?
cause i've seen that in hundreds of movies...

someone once said there are 7 stories in the world, everything else is a variation of one of them...

I feel sorry for these extreme movie critics that nitpick. They'll never be able to enjoy a movie, cause there will be always something that could've been done better.

Sometimes it's nice being simple minded, just sit back and be entertained.
