Placebo - Special NeeRAB
Joy Division - The Eternal

I actually find the song disco 2000 by pulp to be pretty sad for such an upbeat song its quite devastating
Please dont anyone say imagine by Lennon that song is just ****ing terrible

I should have guessed that somebody would put "Lazarus" in here. Yeah, its sad enough, but it's boring as shit in my opinion. The only song on the album that I skip past whenever I listen to it.

I didn't bother to check if anybody else had posted this, but "In the Arms of an Angel" by Sarah McLachlan makes taking a swan dive (or belly flop) off the Golden Gate bridge awfully appealing. I'm not saying I don't like her music, but oh man, that song...

As your Voice Fades by emery def made me cry.... and Just Wanted To Make Mother Proud by Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is a good tear jerker

Here's one from the "old school" files:

"Toby" by the Chi-Lites

It tells the story of a college freshman coming home for spring break to learn his high school sweetback has died.

I might be showing my age here, but I've always found the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday" to be a real tear-jerker. Very upsetting song, in my opinion, but that might just be me transferring my own experiences onto the song.

Ryan Adams - I Taught Myself How To Grow Old
Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Nine Inch Nails - Something I Can Never Have

and many already mentioned including Johnny Cash's/Nine Inch Nails - Hurt.... easily the greatest and saddest song ever written for me.
