The Royle Family Christmas 2010?

The Royle family is the highlight of my christmas and will be very sad the day we dont get another special from Jim and Barb.
I was always under the impression that a deal had been done to make 3 christmas specials hence this year being the last one but I cant see BBC wanting to let go ofthis show without a fight even if it means just having a special same for BBC hoping James and Ruth will write more specials for Gavin and Stacey.
If you take these 2 shows out of the equation at christmas time then its hard to find a good comedy worth watching.
 
I really hope there is. Always enjoyed it, even when it's not been laugh out loud funny like in the early days. Feel like you've got to know the characters so you do care about them. Even if it's Denise who just neeRAB a good slap! It'd be nice to meet her kiRAB and Our Anthony again.

The only thing that annoyed me last year was the sloppy continuity and stuff- like it being Jim and Barbs' 50th wedding anniversary when they're clearly only in their 60's!
 
Hopefully but only if they put the effort into a good script, the last 2 were crap and looked thrown together. They should never take the show out of the Royle's house.
 
There is going to be one. Theres been various reports by the cast that indicate they are making one.

Its also very boring now that whenever someone asks if it is coming back or for any news the thread gets swamped with the " the last two have been rubbish", "they should have ended it after so and so".
 
I agree to a point as it was the last good episode, the following 2 specials were appalling....but also felt the 3rd series was a huge letdown. Series 1 & 2 were comedy gold and SOOOOO true to life, if I could erase what followed....I would
 
I enjoy the special the last one though was slightly OTT but I always look forward to them.

The Queen of Sheba was the best one although it wasnt as funny for obvious reasons towarRAB the end.
 
Fair point.

Regarding the Royal Family, I've enjoyed the first half of each of the Christmas specials. It's when they leave the house that something just doesn't click with me.
