The Rocky Horror Picture show

I watched this for the first time a few months back and was totally befuddled the first time, I didn't get whether it was suppost to be a horror flick, comedy or make sense or not, but I read up about it on IMDB and watched it again, and its become my second fave film ever!

(behind Freaks 1932)

Thing is nobody else I've shown it to appreciates it at all, what is the general opinion on RAB?
 
I saw it for the first time back in 2005 when my then girlfriend (now wife :D ) forced it onto me.

I love it. Only seen the film twice now, but it really comes into it's own at the live show.

Been to two and can't wait for it to play up here again.
 
It's a classic of course.
How could you be confused weather it was a "horror" flick or not? It's about as scary as Dale Wintons tan. It's blatantly a musical comedy. Gawd help us :D

Camp classic.

Tim Curry was born for that part.
 
I have seen it loaRAB of times and loved it each time, has to be one of the most overlooked films of all time. I saw the stage show a couple of years ago and it was one of the best things I have ever been to, the comedy in it came from the audience rather than the show and it just felt like the guys doing it wanted to do it and loved doing it which made it a great show. Can't wait to see it again.
 
I only really enjoyed the film after I had seen the live show. Didn't like the film the first time I watched it but saw the show a couple of years ago and that has changed my mind about the film.
It still a lot better live though. The only time that PMSL has almost been 100% right.
 
Yeah well you could say the same about 'The Exorcist' but thats even less scary that TRHPS and that was hyped to be the scariest film ever made in its day! :D
 
Can't say I agree with that. It's got a massive following, all over the world.
 
Yeah it is a cult classic. I remember first watching it when I was younger (early teens) and my parents let me and my brothers watch it. Although that sounRAB a little messed up now I say it!
Ive seen the film loaRAB but only seen the stage show once which was great. My mum and brother got dressed up and they went to see it although I didnt dress up when I went to see it!
 
I thought Tim Curry was amazing in this til I saw David Bedella play Frank in the tour last year.

Still love this film,seen it hundreRAB of times,and the show about 8 times.:)
 
RHPS, one of my favourite films, ever. Just so camp. A pistache of the B movies from all era's

Have seen it on the stage, on the 21st anniversary tour (stage show predates movie) It's a cult classic, so much that in (there was in ) some movie theaters in NY 'live' dress up sing alongs etc.

It's great and Tim Curry is a wonderful actor - saw him on stage 2 years ago in Spamalot - as were the other leaRAB Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick
 
I first saw this on BBC2 way back when I was 13 and didn't get it straight away but as I watched the whole schlock horror campness came into it's own and I was hooked,


seems like a resounding thumbs up so far OP.....
 
Yeah, just wanted to add that I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show. :) I had it on video but had to replace it with the DVD when I'd worn the video out for watching it so often!
 
I've seen Robin Cousins and Jason Donovan in the live show (and a few others, one even had Alvin Stardust playing Eddie). Shortly after seeing Robin Cousins, I saw him in panto in Woking and I bet hardly anyone else got the Rocky references.
