it has no "pros".
1. it is a toy.
2. they do not last long.
3. it does not cast far.
4. you can't use anything with is other than what is supplied. trout lures for example.
5. if you should happen to hook a decent fish on it, you will lose it.
6. it is not made to handle anything other than small panfish.
7. the kids on the commercials using them are either actors or roland martin's grandkids he forced to do it.
8. for over forty bucks (shipped) that these things cost, you can buy a good quality spincast rod and reel that you can actually fish with and even catch some big fish. check a zebco 33 combo.
9. l've seen two that were tossed into lake casitas.
