The US remake of the original Japanese horror film. I watched the DVD last night with my wife. Far better than I was expecting. Actually quite scary in places. Deb actually had to cover her eyes at some points. (soft tart!)

I just don't get scared during movies. I wish I did. However, I *like* good horror/scary movies for the tension and atmosphere they create. This film had loaRAB. Thoroughly recommended if anyone is thinking of buying this.:)

Note: Deb wouldn't even watch the extra on the DVD entitled 'Don't watch this'. She actually got scared that if she watched it something would happen! I told you, soft :)
 
Well; there's no point in recalling it back anyway! Just start a new one!

Is it worth me getting Ringu on R1 DVD????

I have not seen ANY version of this movie so far! :confused:
 
I watched the Hollywood remake again yesterday and have to say I prefer it over the Japanese version.

I really got more out The Ring second time around, the camera work and visuals are lovely. My only groan was the ending when Sadako emerged from the well to claim Noah, it happened so quickly. The Japanese rendition of that part was much more doom laden and eerie!

Oh well still give it 8 out of 10. I can't wait for the Hollywood sequel as it is going to go in a different direction to Ringu 2, and I am pretty confident that they will do a good job of it....
