I need help with a finishing paragraph...
In the poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge there is very vivid descriptive imagery. Imagery is used in literature to refer to descriptive language that evokes sensory experience. Using descriptive imagery allows a writer to write what they mean and carry the meaning across to the readers, in a simple way.
In coleridge's poem all five senses such as touch, smell, taste, sight, and sound are used.Coleridge creates feelings of discomfort and celebration in his poem "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." The figurative language adds to the image of the words used, as they create many feelings that the reader can relate to. Coleridge also make the reader expirience different moods, as the feeling rejection can quickly change to happiness. The amazing sense emotion captures what Coleridge is trying to say, it enables the reader to understand completely what is going on. Once that happens, the reader can appreciate the value of his poem.
Coleridge creates a great sense of happiness so strong that it can be transferred to the reader. For exsample, the Albatross, which hung around the Mariner's neck as punishment for shooting it, "fell off, and sank like lead into the sea" (290-291).It's almost if the Mariner was immediately freed from his wrong-doing, as the view of the albatross quickly distanced from the Mariner. The albatross was a symbol of shame and guilt to that point, as the men on the ship eventually killed it through acts of it being "hellish thing" (91). They had hung the albatross around his neck as a form of punishment,to signal that the killing of the Albatross is an offense against nature, and that the guilty one, which is the Mariner, must suffer the punishment that the universe feels.
thankyou
