The RIAA Took My Baby Away

Eh, I guess not really but I'd rather spend 10-15 bucks per paycheck on one new CD than make a 50-100+ purchase at once just to have my internet shut off by the "man" for downloading music.

Instead of making a new thread each month to list the latest heinous and evil thing they're up to lets confine it to this one thread.

Let me summarize this article quickly. The RIAA is trying to get an act passed (The PRO-IP Act) that allows them to fine you between $150k to 1.5-million dollars per album illegally shared. Basically that's enough to **** your average family over. If this gets passed, I don't even know what to say. This is so ridiculously awful, it's like these people have a strong desire to be hated or they're not aware of how overly-extreme and uncivil their actions are. This goes beyond your simple stop-downloading-albums-please, this is just out-right malicious.

Good thing I already own every album there is. ;)

Don't worry, I didn't buy them, that would be stupid.

The record industry people really are evil. I'm talking Lex Luther evil.

That's actually not true. You can definitely get into trouble for just having it on your computer and sharing it over KaZaA or something similar. RIAA just busted about 260 people in the last month for that offense.

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a list of banRAB that are a affiliated with the RIAA. BanRAB that are really truely Independent. I am not talking Genre here people. I am talking straight up indie.

I don't even really know if there is such a thing. Or is there anyway I can find out if a band is affilated with the RIAA without having to read a ****load of non-sense?

Please help out the noob. Thank You.

The reason for this I am planning on making a website.

I think he means for sharing it, not downloading it.

I only share files privately. So they would have no way of finding out anyway. I think as long as you share files privately you're safe.
