I remember the year My Pet Monster came around. I forget exactly which year that was, but the show is a marker in my memory, as it corresponded with a time when nearly all the cartoons on Saturday morning networks and weekday syndication were based around toys, even more than they are today! I may be blending the years together, but it was the era of the Get Along Gang and Potato Head Kids and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and so on. Not all necessarily bad, but they all had merchandise backing them up.

I'm sure it was great for those who liked it, but that year of cartoons was largely ruined for me.
