The Restaurant 2009

If he hasn't got "The Skills" (as in actually cooking) what the hell is he doing on a cooking programme or thinking about opening a restaurant?

Remarkably good Buck!;) Where were you hiding when we were pottering around TV centre? Me and a friend were almost on it!:cry::cry: but ended up as reserves, spent a bit of time with all the couples so might have been a bit kinder!

I had my doubts about Sandy early on when she said she didn't do much in the kitchen (looking down her nose into a glass of BBC White!) maybe she could have pierced the can with her long fingernails!

I was surprised about Joe though he seemed very confident in real life pushing his Mum to do things she wouldn't normaly do!

"All of your lurvvve, all of your passion"

What is it with the french and cooking? I am looking forward to the show but I hope he has got rid of that ratty woman who goes and does the inspections for him.

I've almost lost my love and enthusiasm for this series because it's so dumbed down and rushed. When I think back to the previous series and the shallenges we had time to get to know the contestants.

Ah well... here we go.

The front of house for the other pair in the final was a lazy-arse as well as incredibly rude.
As I've said before, the producers concentrated too much on getting joke candidates that would make good telly and forgot that some of the contestants would have to be credible winners of the show.
The best solution would have been for Raymond to refuse to name a winner at all.

That's when I knew they had won as well, and when they started towing the 'company' line in regarRAB to 'better food might have come out of the other kitchen all night, but its also about the concept.. blah blah' I started to think it was a set up.

Besides since when was their concept cocktails?! It's picnic food and I don't see how cocktails are picnicy.

The premise of the show was that the winners would open a restaurant in partnership with RB, having proved they were the best pair to do so. The winkers made it very clear with their "picnic" food that they were not in the least interested in cooking or providing restaurant meals. This was what made so many of us angry. The other contestants did their best to cook. For RB to choose them meant there was absolutely no point in the series because his choice was not founded upon the rules of the programme. He might just as well have picked them after the first programme and saved us wasting a lot of time watching in hope they would get chucked out.

that was rude and if that was me, i would be tempted to complain.
i dont understand how people who have no people skills go into customer service, i'm crap at dealing with people's stupid complaints and I wouldn't dream of doing such a job as that

Thanks for the series 2 writeups, Buck - they shall lighten my long winters nights now the resturant is over - I just hope my alcohol sodden brain can recall who's who from over a year ago:D

For one delicious moment yesterday I actually thought JJ and James were going to kiss each other, but no, it sadly turned into a man-hug. They really ought to get a room.

On a personal note, can we stop bitching please - I can get sniping and backbiting at work, I come on here for a break from all that. Constructive disagreeing only People. Clacker you ignore Buck, Straker and Pixie you ignore Clacker - don't make me come in there!!
