The Restaurant 2009

Crazy Ray ... the moniker may not stick globally, but that's how he will referred to in my peer group from now on. :D

(I recommended The Restaurant to all my frienRAB and now feel such a fool!)

bel110 - I think you're right. I seem to remember that last year one of the contestants was upset because she couldn't see her child because the only day off was Sunday and that was not enough given the distance. I think the routine was:
Monday - debrief at Le Manoir and get challenge
Tuesday - prepare challenge
Wednesday- challenge
Thursday - one couple goes home, rest prepare for weekend sevice, including mini-task.

This year we know from close-ups of tickets that the fast-food trial was June 16th, so the restaurants didn't open until after that. We know from my link in the post above that the Food Fair demo was July 10th 3 weeks 3 days later in real time but 5 weeks later in programme time or in terms of last year's timescale.

The show has proven beyond a doubt this year that you dont need talent to get on, just a bloody great nerve. Its like the King's new clothes. Surely someone will soon stand up and shout "BUT HE CAN'T COOK" and they will all wake up from under the spell he cast when he first winked at Raymond. Or perhaps they will just win and Raymond will start opening sandwich and scotch egg restaurants.

Wait no longer! Theirs is the one restaurant that still has their menu outside and you can see it, and other pictures, in the link below. When you get there click on 'View album' then click on 'Layout view' then click on individual photos and when they appear click on the 'view original image' icon above it. You can then zoom in.

Alcoholics paradise! Alcoholic sweets

I can only agree with every single other post on here about the final winners.....and I can add no more to what has already been said.

What I WOULD like to say is that I feel soooo sorry for Chris and Nathan. Chris clearly stood out as the better chef and as annoying as Nathan was, I think he had improved.

The couple I MOST feel sorry for are Stephen and Rebecca (The Front Room). They worked their SOCKS off in both their restaurant and the various events and to see JJ and James sail past them and win makes my blood boil.

Stephen and Rebecca really really wanted to succeed and had the passion and determination that James and JJ will never have.

I am sooo angry that I have now gone right off RB. He has gone down in my estimation and hope he gets the backlash he deserved.

The final thing I WOULD say is that I cannot WAIT to hear the reviews/updates on James and JJ.......whats the betting they'll fade into oblivion (fingers crossed). And I also hope that Stephen and Rebecca and Chris and Nathan all go onto bigger and better things.

Rant over.
