The Restaurant 2009

Every week I've been waiting for Raymond to turn to JJ and James and tell them they're gone, but now they've somehow blagged their way to the final! My nostalgia for last year has never been stronger.

Sarah also spent most of the series appalled and angered by their blagging and cocky attitude. So suddenly she turned that on its head by saying they could think on their feet.

It also took the last episode for RB to climb onto the "apprentice" wagon by saying he wasn't expecting the finished article.

Something was fundamentally skewed with this series. Sadly it has gone the way of all reality shows by throwing up evermore bizarre acts for our entertainment.

Something tells me JJ would be better off on the apprentice than the restaurant.

(edit: hur hur, the editing: "Raymond will expect the chefs to design, and bake the cake themselves " JJ: "Got any water? I'm feeling a bit faint..." )

Back in 1992 Me and Adam and Eve broke into a large barge in Bristol while we were at a loss what to do in the early hours waiting for the train from Temple MeaRAB to the deep dark west country for Glastonbury... it's certainly not the barrel boat but damned well looks like the same club boat was used in the program that we boarded as minor pirates years ago!:D:eek:

appointment to view

Well put. My frienRAB and I stayed in for this.

The other spin-off is that this thread was hilarious and affectionate as we got to know the contestants but now there's very little to comment on because who cares who wins? I couldn't care less frankly.

As someone posted earlier, it's little more than a gameshow now.

I must admit, I am considering ducking out tonight. This series has been such a dissapointment, compared to the last couple of years. The Challenges are dull, we don't see enough of "regular" service in the restaurants, just too much messing bout with the format. Based on what we have seen, I can't see how any of those left, are capable of running a restaurant.....

REALLY don't like this series!! All credibility is LONg gone.
I feel so sorry for RB, the show is a complete farce. He must be mortified to have anything to do with it.
Clearly they are the most incompetent bunch ever. Any guise of looking for serious business partners is long gone.
Really disappointing, makes the ending of Masterchef even more painful :(

Yep. End of the day they (all three of them) are opening a restaurant. They felt the winkers had more potential to create something different and unique in the market.

Well even if cocktails were the concept, they shouldnt have even been allowed to enter in the first place. This show is called "The Restaurant" and the idea of the weekly tasks is to find the best Chef (& possibly good business head) for Raymond et al to open a Restaurant with. A bit like the X factor, looking for a good singer, not a dancer. Whilst the other contestants were taking the whole thing seriously and cooking up a storm, JJ had someone to do the cooking for him, and when he attempted to do it himself the results were disasterous. I think a lot of people feel conned, and not least poor Chris who did everything right for Raymond to have the nerve to tell him he failed at the final hurdle, unlike JJ of course who failed every hurdley.
