The Restaurant 2009

Good points raised there and yes I agree the programme is 'cast' just as much as 'Big Brother' or any other 'reality series'.
Perhaps the competent people you know just wouldn't make 'good television'......;):(

I agree with your point that their concept was fatally flawed but no more so than it was for the previous two weeks when they did get through. I know they had issues getting food out that was edible and with sauce! But they did appear to get food out to people which was not so apparent in JJ's place where the most important thing he seemed to be doing was ensuring a soft boiled egg and where his partner lied to RB about the food being served promptly and that people liked it

That's it in a nutshell. Previous two series I was glued to the set; this one, when I was out I didn't even bother recording it.

To those who think that this won't damage RB's reputation - remember Gerald Ratner?

LOL :D Yes I noticed that, at first I thought she just had a spot on her cheek but by the end she appeared to have a black eye? I wondered whether she had knocked her head on one of those dangling saucepans in the kitchen or blown herself up while trying to light that gas oven!

Actually she reminded me of Mimi from Shameless - I kept expecting her to headbut someone.

My faves to win so far would be Bodger and Badger, the Nigerian girls and those two boys who did the Pork Waterloo

Exactly. If it was all about concept, they should have just hired a chef and FOH for each restaurant, and been judged on entirely different tasks, e.g.:

[*]Comparing customer numbers, financial returns, feedback, etc week by week
[*]And so on

I can assure you that this was a large part of the process, however this does not appear to have been taken into account or edited in a way which reflects the results - which I for one was quite surprised at baring in mind the amount of time it would take us each service to compile the figures.
