I would agree agree with everything you say..if the programme was built around that concept. In fact, I posted much the same after the previous episode.
However, in this weeks episode, Stephen and Rebecca appeared to get everything right apart from the presentation in front the audience. They did well with their little cookery class..it appeared to be hanRAB-on for the "pupils", better in my opinion than Chris and Nathan's effort. In that "test" the winkers were nowhere, not a single person turned up.
Stephen and Rebecca would definitely have won the evening sevice test this week. The customers were happy, the food appeared to have improved still further, they seemed to have really got their act together.
They failed the presentation at the food fair, but when is a chef ever likely to be called upon to exhibit his skills in front of hundreRAB of people. Speaking of which, I wonder how many Bristolians could understand Raymond doing his little showpiece at the start..it sounded like Inspector Clouseau on acid.
I could understand the decision if the concept of the series was to find the best couple of entrepreneurs, the pairing with the most business acumen. Personally, I would still be wary of putting my money into a business venture with the winkers..I have met too many blaggers like them in other areas of business. But that's beside the point, if that was the whole idea behind the show, why bother with all the tests based on cooking along the way.
I don't mind the result, or think they have it wrong..the series just didn't do what it said on the tin.
