The Restaurant 2009

No! You should be told that as you walk in and them it's up to you. "I'm very sorry, but currently there is about an hour wait for food at the moment."

Yes but you can also perhaps appreciate that Raymond can't keep opening identical restaurants around the country based on identical series of his show. Eventually he had to change things a bit and open something different to S1 and S2.

The Apprentice has a similar problem. Sir Alan has to hire someone every year but they're given different roles so the requirements change slightly. I think it's the same with this show.

Perhaps he should have said at the start...

"I plan to open another restaurant, but this year, I am looking for more than just the cooking, I am looking for potential over perfection."

Acorn House at King's Cross sources all of its produce from within the M25, is all seasonal, recycles thier waste and also is training restaurant for eco chefs. It can be done.

What a dire series this has been, two weeks without a 'Restaurant of the week'.

Next week's task "The Demo - The three remaining couples must stage a cookery masterclass in their restaurants" - can't wait to see what JJ will be doing - showing people how to cut up scotch eggs?

Only when you harvest them mechanically.
Usually the leaves are cut or sprayed with some nasty stuff to make them wither. This toughens/thickens the skin of the potatoes making it easier to harvest them mechanically without damaging the skin.

How the blooming 'ell does the winkers survive another week!! Hopefully B & B will do OK they are my favs... (it's a hairy "badger" suit thing ;) )

Loving this thread and the buck reports.......

That's about right! The very little cookery that was involved in the selection was more about how you reacted to cameras following you around the kitchen!.. I only saw a few episodes of last series but it did seem a bit more about food and running restaurant... Concept was high in the minRAB of the producers... but I never thought it would run this rampant! :o

Lucy and Frances ... yes I thought so too .... my money was/is on Lucy, although now I'm leaning towarRAB it prob being Rebecca .... although I guess its not fair to speculate as goddess could get into trouble ... well whoever you are thanks for the insights ... they are really interesting and glad you came out of it so positively.

Thats the impression RB & co are giving, it was clear that was where they were heading last night with Daisy & nadine, highlighting the lack of nigerian influence, but then where was the 'picnic' concept on show at the winkers restaurant that night? And a couple with a 'concept' to establish a nigerian themed restaurant have to participate in an english tea dance challenge?! How can that be right?
I've been SO disappointed with it this year, its unbelievable to imagine that the week after next RB & co are going to go into business with any of these... in fact it is literally not believable. JJ can't cook won't cook, nathan can't become mr charm in two weeks and the twins just don't seem to be up to the mark. :(
