The Restaurant 2009

Agree with the general consensus, 1 how does not work as well, but hey!
Contestants are DIRE! I am all for having one or two couples for entertainment value, but noone seems to have any real potential.
I liked the ladies that cooked Nigerian cuisine and the pork guys the best.
The guy that was winking at Raymond is unbearable, I guess he's there for the annoyance factor. I kind of liked the chubby younger couple that made the chocolate fondant too. Will see how it goes, still enjoyable enough, and RB is as lovely as ever :)

Thanks so very much for that Bibendum. I've just read it even though you copied it verbatim. It was brilliant to see this on the Wiki website for myself.

You are a star for letting us all know our opinion is well and truly out there!

Ah maybe that's why he said to Bodger/Badger/Whichever "think about it", because to him it's obvious, and I suppose it is now that you have put it like that.

Maybe that's how they kept the series budget down - the producers probably jumped for joy when he kicked them out - or they told him in advance he had to bin one lot off right away.

Well it seemed quite clear from the outset that this year was a bit different. For a start all three "judges" were in this together as a business enterprise rather than just Raymond, and the normal two-episode format had been ditched in favour of a much smaller one episode per week series.

Were specific cooking tasks given, or was cooking just part of a bigger picture? The tasks were more like The Apprentice than Masterchef.

We had The Pitch, The Chain, Opening Night, Seasonal Ingredients, Afternoon Tea, Singles Night, Demo and the Banquet.

Yes cooking was involved but it wasn't all based on cooking. Raymond was trying to find the best theme and couple to push his idea forward, and that happened to be the winkers. That isn't to say Chris was a bad chef, he clearly wasn't and had Nathan bucked his ideas up a lot sooner they may have done it.
