The Restaurant 2009

I actually think, ironically, that the winkers are going to go tonight even though they did actually do pretty well with this service. Just the feeling i get from the edit.

If RB had any integrity he would have refused to invest in any of them. Food is supposed to be his passion ( he tells us often enough), not cocktails with snacks..

I found the cake task yet another daft one. There are businesses out there who design cakes for such an event and surely a restaurant would just buy one in. I can't see there is a professional cake designer in every restauarant.

The couples were specifically told the cake had to be made by the chef - under no circumstances were FOH allowed to help in any way :(
It was also not an option to refuse the cake - as this would have resulted in a failed task

It's a tearoom and he doesnt own it, he complained his eggs werent cooked right, his baguette was under cooked, and we didn't clear tables quick enough. He even told the girl washing up she wasn't doing it right!! Have I expanded enough??

Buck's posts are the only entertaining thing about the show this year.

I have given up on the real thing and just read Buck's resume to keep in touch.

After seeing the finale of this show i have to say im truly appalled and have lost any truth or little faith i had left in rtv i shall not be watching any rtv anymore and i feel that raymond sold himself out.

Sadly, based on the experience of watching The Apprentice over the last few years, the "Trajectory of Incompetence" was all too predictable.

The Restaurant has always had decent ratings for its channel and timeslot but never stellar, so inevitably the producers will have gone with what qualifies in the circumstances as a ratings grabber, viz an incompetent chef. At least they haven't gone down the X Factor route with an uncooked sheeps head being excused on the tearful basis that it reminRAB them of their much loved late grandmother.

If it goes to a furth series I have a vision of them replicating the "Dougal's first funeral - what could possibly go wrong?" sequence from Father Ted, with Coq au Vin replacing Funeral but with the same hilarious consequences.

Got it!

JJ and James have been running the Cocktail Club in London currently serving cocktails and food platters.

the quote below is taken from Blanc's own website introducing the contestants:

'Currently co-owners of a cocktail bar in London, the two are hoping to expand into the culinary world with The Picnic Club

Yup, dead right.

I am so disappointed/disgusted by this show, I had been looking forward to it so much.

I hope the new spin off shows will be better next year - they can't be worse, or can they?

Great, thanks a lot. I will take a look back and see what I missed. I don't know why the format didn't grab me, I will stick with it as the Masterchef fans appear to like this series..so perhaps it will grow on me.
Anyway, I always like these "foodie" threaRAB, the posters are usually entertaining, and most are friendly and helpful..such as yourself. My thanks again.
