...hurt Dems in General Election? The Republican Party cut both Michigan and Florida's delegations in half for going early.
Will some people in these states really vote Republican to "punish" the Democrats, when Republicans basically did the same thing?
Is this the main reason the DNC is considering giving half delegates at all? To even things out with the GOP?
The DNC makes the rules for the Democratic primaries, and the Republican Party makes the rules for the Republican primaries.
The Republican party already decided that Florida and Michigan would only get half their representation at the Republican convention in Minnesota because those states went early. The Republicans aren't arguing with themselves about the decision, and that's why it looks like only the DNC has punished the two states.
