Wow, that's a lot of Hairspray. I'm thinking our little board members might want to venture out and see some other movies.

And true the original is better, but the remake is so completely different the only thing they really have in common is hairspray and the racial themes. It's hard to really compare the two...

I've seen both Hairspray movies and Hairspray with music is much better than it without. I guess that's the musical lover inside me talking but I was bored to tears watching the original. I'm amazed I got through it actually and I love watching old movies like that. I'm glad to see it did well and I lurve that Sweeney came in a close second. My two favorite movies from this year kicked ass! :D

^.".^

And we complain about the Academy playing favorites. :look:

Haven't seen the movie... didn't really have a desire to.

No problem, I enjoyed doing it! I can't wait to do it again next year!

I agree that the original Hairspray is better. I didn't think it was that great.

I'm okay with the results, I think there was just a bit much for the Hairspray movie, but it has a lot of fans.

I feel so stupid though. I had just finished totaling all the votes and the percentages when I realized I didn't cast my votes! :lmao:

Did you mean AM right on April 30th or do we have until midnight tonight to vote?

Vote.

If you were sending in nominations, then there wouldn't be anything in the categories.

Right now, based on the list of categories and nominees above, you are sending in your votes.

I love Hairspray! Glad to see it did so well here!

And HSM2 won worst movie? *giggles*

Also, YAY for Michael Cera! :yay:

I really don't get this
Do you have to nominate people or vote for the people in those lists? :look:

Well don't forget to vote! :)

ETA:

IMPORTANT

The deadline for sending in your votes is APRIL 30th, 2008 at Midnight, Pacific Time.

What a surprise... Hairspray won almost every award it was nominated for

My only opinion is that Hairspray isn't that good. You all should check out the original. It's innovative, hilarious and it blows the remake out of the water.

Thanks for all your hard work Ms. Melika

The RESULTS have been posted!

See the first post for the listings!

Now that the awards are over, feel free to discuss who you nominated and why, and who you thought you should have nominated etc...!

Hello Moderators, could one of you please close the old thread and top this one?

Thanks! :)

ETA: For anyone who is wondering, I have not set a date yet for the deadline to send in your votes. I'm still deciding a reasonable length of time!
