No idea, but she hangs herself in the book, and according to both Wikipedia and imdb she hanged herself in the movie as well.

Yes they did, but she takes them off, and puts them on the floor, then just stanRAB on books. Then it moves on.

Stupid story why would anyone choose to spend their life in jail instead of just saying I can't read therefore I can't write so it could not be me who wrote the instruction.

Even sillier, why would Ralph Fiennes let her spend her life in jail instead of speaking on her behalf

Next scene female prison officer tells Michael "she never intended leaving this prison"
