Hi, let's just say that i'm not white.

I'm in an all white sports team-lacrosse.

I stand up like a sore thumb, the picture like doesn't fit there is that one guy who is not white that stands out.

I feel so sad and have low self esteem for playing on my team.
I don't think its useful for me to stay on the team.

No one likes this "none-white" guy on the team, they don't even pass me the ball.

It seems that I represent all the non-whites out therem If I screw up maybe it will put a bad rep on my race.

Things didn't use to been like this, we had asians on the lacrosse team but they are all gone now.

I feel so insecure about my self in being sorrounded by whites, maybe I should quit.

What do you guys think?

How can I overcome this psychological handicapp.

Unfortunately this is never an easy situation and I clearly don't know all of the facts of what's going on this situation but breaking down barriers only happens when the minority does go through the hardships. I say stick to it because you are showing that it is possible.

If you quit you may discourage future non whites from going out for lacrosse too. Major league baseball started out famously with Jackie Robinson. He faced hell and had a horrible experience, but stuck with it every single day, now nobody thinks twice about race in baseball. We need people to break down barriers. Just one this year, maybe two next year. Change takes time.
