The PS3 Version looks better.

You say that like I don't have the option of getting the PS3 version. No, I do... I just use that system for what Sony meant it to be.

Oh, and I had the PS3 version playing right next to the 360 version through monitors running the 360 @ 1280x768 (or whatever setting it is) and the PS3 version at 720p. There was hardly any difference. There were slightly more pop ins in the 360 version, and there were more load times but that was it.
 
Ive experienced pop-in, but none of the other problems you mentioned. I dont get disc unread or a loud system.

What matters though is that this game is badass, so what if the ps3 version looks better, I still got my 360 first, it doesnt make me unable to buy a ps3, ill just do that later.

Plus, when you're on a huge floating steel building (AKA: Air Craft Carrier) for 8-9 months straight every other 3 years or so... those achievements come in mighty handy.

online on my 60gb works just as flawlessly as live (coughoutagescough). lets see i can create partys with friends i can host games just fine, i think the only thing i cant do is send messages ingame (yet) oh and unlike all the other technolgicaly challenged fools i have a stereo hooked up to my computer and TV so i can listen to all 30gbs of music when ever i want over anygame i want, coming though the same speakers as my ps3 sounds, and your custom soundtracks run over the cut scenes too so its exactly the same.

so the only thing you stated that i dont have is was Achivements and we already know what i think of those. so really what your saying is..

Achivements > better graphics, better load times, more viberant color pallet

Goddamned fanboys (doesn't matter if you have both systems if thats how you are going to act )

The graphics on the PS3 are nowhere near that much "better" to warrant some you assholes brushing off the 360 version like the lesser of the two, our touting the PS3 as some kind of winner, like this is a contest.

- It runs at a lower resolution on the PS3, allowing more and stronger filters to be used but at the cost of the overall sharpness and clarity of the image.

- The "painted" effect of some textures is a little muddier at times on the PS3, and the image appears slightly darker (unless you play around with the settings).

- The 360 has a sharper, slightly brighter (still dark as fuck), vibrant appearance (I dunno what this shit is about the PS3 being "more vibrant", yes, the colors are sometimes deeper or more saturated and darker, but in many instances that leads to an overall darker, muddier image when combined with the lack of sharpness and stronger filters, and I've seen and played both versions on the same LCDs just to see a difference)

- It runs at 720p on the 360 (a trade-off resulting in a few more jaggies and scaled down filters i.e. 'noisy' shadows)

- The 360 has more pop in in some situations, and slightly longer loading times (though the initial loading time on the ps3 is actually a bit longer) Neither of which detracts that much from the actual presentation of the game, just like the PS3s shitty resolution doesn't detract from it either.

- I'll take the 360s tighter joysticks and their placement and the triggers over the PS3's loose sticks and marshmallow L2/R2 any day. But thats a matter of preference.

- Microsoft's XBoxLive integration and stability > PSN with R*
- Exclusive DLC > little or no DLC
- Having achievements (Something else to play certain aspects of the game for. Something to compete with among friends and the ...get this, "online community" with. And something giving you a reason to go after certain shit that has no real purpose at all on PS3 outside of the game's built in stats) > no achievements, even if YOU personally think they are worthless and stupid.



So far all my friends with PS3 versions say the 360 version looks better to them, I actually like the look of the PS3 version myself, mainly because of less pop in and i like the kind of hazy filtered look, though i have it for 360 and wouldnt think of trading it in.

So but shut the fuck up with this "zOmG!1 GTAIV PS3 is somuch betterz!!!1 Face it 360 fanboiszz1!" bullshit.
 
No, we played both versions first on a 55" Sony SXRD last week and the 360 looked better overall there. Just a bit sharper and more vibrant and colorful.

Then just for kicks we tried it yesterday on my friend's just under high-end (, son) 40-something" professionally tuned Pioneer LCD and again the look of the 360 was a bit more vibrant and sharper.

With a bit more more pop in though when doing shit like speeding down the street at top speed or flying low through the city.
 
i honestly dont care which one is better becasue i own a PS3, thus i will get it on the console i own. im not gonna run out and spend $350 on another console just to play the same game thats slighty better or worse in anyway shape or form, and i dont expect anyone else to do any less. if i could afford to have both i would but i cant becasue i do other things then play videogames, like guitar, BMX, my 67 charger, my v8 5speed single cab dakota, photography and so forth.

i just like arguing with reign becasues his arguments are aways so ludacirs and fanboyish
