The Professional: Golgo 13, any thoughts?

It's an awesome, sexy and action packed adaptation of the Manga which has some neat animation, early but sometimes laughable CGI in the climax since this was made in 1983, and some emotion like the death of the main boss who thought he was a bad guy when he wasn't.

It's about this oil industralisit who's son was killed by this assassin as he hires government officials and Golgo 13 seems to be the target as he's scoring women and fighting off other assassins. I loved this one since high school and it's one of my favorites.

I was young, and the case looked cool. I mean really, why on earth would the video guy give this film to youngsters in the first place is beyond me. o.O

I recall, it had awesome and memorable characters, such as, Gold and Silver and Snake. (disturbing stuff, man)
I remeraber this as the film that haunted me. (I think this was the first R rated cartoon I'd ever seen)
Not that great of a film tbh. shotty graphics, terrible story, and lame main character.
 
But do you think Duke Torgo a.k.a. Golgo 13 is one badass guy? this anime is basically Ninja Scroll meets James Bond. Ok so the old CGI in this movie is outdated and laughable but the animation is good for it's day and i think it's a fun movie.
 
I do like this one a lot. The juxtaposition of the hard edged realistic elements and the surreal fantastic ones work really well. It's been a long time since i sat down and watched this. Come to think of it, I've both films on dinosauric VHS! God I'm old.
 
DVD is probably a better choice since it's got both dub and sub versions including some good extras.

Did that climax where the bad guy fell made you a bit sad? i mean he was remerabering about his son's past and all.
 
its alright I've seen a few episodes and remeraber the movie some years back. I was somewhat scarred being a young viewer of the original film as well however looking back it is better than the series now available. IMO. can't say I'm a big fan though really.
