hing more than a giant Rube Goldberg machine in its method of running government. Ever more complex to achieve the same usefulness, and people forget that all that added complexity adds in its slowness to react, increases chance of break down, and adds to the cost.
 
I think that it's largely a result of partisan politics.

You have two groups of people who want pretty much opposite things -- when you fit all of their bills together, it creates a huge clusterfuck. It's nrabroad
hing but shitty compromises.
 
I think it's just from decades of piling crap on top of crap on top of crap instead of just fixing the original crap with something that isn't crap.
