I get really excited when people like this movie, because every single person I have recommended it to was really negative about it. I don't get it. Maybe I should lock them in a room and make them watch it again.

I thought it was fantastic from the first viewing.

Excellente, again. Glad you're a fan of Lost Highway, sadly seems to be pretty forgotten amongst Lynch's other more notable work. Love the amazing stylistic tone and atmosphere it has, it's on my list but a lot higher
Figured Chopper would crop up on here, does TAOJJBTCRF make an appearance as well? I watched it recently, but sadly only half watched, think on a repeat reviewing it's look at a spot in my Top 40.

Aren't these just TPs favorite 100 films? I don't think he is doing a list of the top 100 films ever made... unless his list from everyone else.

Ha YES my son, Mortal Kombat FTW. Absolute cheese gem there. Really need to see that again, think it would make my list

Think that Casino may have the edge of Goodfellas ....but you'll have to wait to see rest my list

Some nice new additions, mostly that i haven't seen but really should- Nil By Mouth particularly now i know some more about it

Lol, yeah mate, Terrence Stamp in Superman 2 took camp to new heights . The funniest performance in the film.

Do you think that's a wig? Its gotta be wig doesn't it? Harry should loan him a hat.

OK, actually, I believe this is the appropriate time to have a group hug. If we can all agree that we like some of the same films, why do we have to attack each other for liking those said films? I realize that some people will have to take some deep breaths, but this is as good a play as any.

Yeah. I think it's a fantastic film. It also does a brill job at playing with genre conventions too by the way it shifts points of views. You think one girl's gonna be the Ripley in the film, but then something happens and then you think 'oh, that person's going to be the hero or heroine'. It's a very unpredictable film. I think you lot need to watch it again.

Damn Lines... I wish you'd post more. And the way you and mark have been semi going back and forth at each other is also quite entertaining.

Just a loyal readers thoughts...

Exactly. Dvd, if you had read my introduction, you'd have noticed that I specifically indicated that these were films that I MYSELF considered great. I'm not speakin' for anybody else and I knew about the controversies in putting some films in better positions than others.

I see were you are getting at with my Deer Hunter placement. It's a great film, sure, but it's also a pretty racist one. That's the main reason it's so low.

Great choice, I love The Matrix. I don't think I'd call the last great movie before 2000, because Fight Club and Saving Private Ryan came out in the same year, too.

Alright mate.

Again, it's marvelous to see another Falling Down fan. It is indeed a masterpiece and a film I see at least once every two months. Do the people you know have seen it rate it highly aswell? Because a lot of the people I know have mixed feelings about it.

I am also pleased to hear that you'll give Hulk another chance. It's definitely one of those films you need to see more than once to fully appreciate it. I always expect people to not really take to Hulk the first time round, but I am always confident that if those people give it another chance, they are rewarded and see the film for what it truly is. When you watch it again, try to focus specifically on Ang Lee's use of imagery. You won't be disappointed.

Cheers mate. Yeah you're right, Lost Highway doesn't seem to get much love. And yes, TAOJJBTCRF has got a VERY high spot on this list. Absolutely adored that film. Dominik matured with this one. And it's only his 2nd feature aswell. So many new films have impacted me recently. Glad you liked the film too, a lot of people find it hard to watch because of the lack of plot.

Yep, Citizen Kane came out a full 5 1/2 months before The Maltese Falcon, but I don't believe the term film noir was coined until after WWII. What's a little difficult to understand is that film noir is highly tied into German expressionism, but when Fritz Lang and William Dieterle (and others) came over from Germany in the 1930s, they may have contributed as much to the concept of film noir as all the hard-boiled American authors of the '30s and '40s.

There are people that I know that will not watch the film as it's a "Homosexual film" that means nothing to me, its a great film. I tottally agree with Iro's points.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll always be around to some degree or another, just depends on time/interest in opining/desire for procrastination, all of which fluctuate.

I also regard mark rather highly, so I hope I haven't given anyone (including him) the impression that I don't. Guess the "narrow-minded bs" quip is pretty harsh.

Perhaps. Re-watching films I didn't particularly like isn't a high priority on my list of things to do these days.

Well, we won't see The Dark Knight in the top 10 because Pres said:

So that's The Dark Knight ruled out then as, surely, it doesn't deserve a top 10 spot.

A definative list? Probably never and certainly no time in the foreseeable future. I have started knocking around the idea of posting something vague, along the lines of "Here's 100 of my favourite films" but I don't know if I could put them in any kind of order either.
