Im sure there have been threaRAB about it before, but i think that was some time ago, so here is a new one. So what do you think of this show?

Personaly, i'm so very, very disapointed by it. The original Powerpuff Girls show was true all-age entertainment, with both clever comedy, well directed action sequences, original plots and innovative visuals. And the anime version... well, its pretty much defined by a complete lack of any of those things. It's not funny nor exciting in any way, and so it just feels pointless to watch. It's obvious that (unlike its american counterpart) i does'nt strive to be entertaining to older audiences in any way. Oh, and why dont the characters bleed from their mouths when hit anymore? I demand BLOOOD!!!

Ahem... So... Your thoughts?
 
The show was produced by Toei Animation in association with Cartoon Network.

I think since PPG is still very popular over in Japan, I think the show was produced just for them and they had no intention of airing it in the States.

From what I've seen, it's not very good.
 
The great irony here is that it failed even in Japan. The Powerpuff Girls is still popular here in Japan (and still airing on one of the sattelite stations, I believe in reruns), but PPGZ is basically completely forgotten now and produced little merchandise.
Even the Japanese liked the original better (it had a really good Japanese dub that was completely faithful to the original english... the voices matched perfectly).
 
So im Guessing CN US probably won't air this in 09 despite the Rumors!

Bad or not... I still think we need at least 1 anime on CN thats not related to catching/battling little monsters.....and with naruto ending and most of the AS animes ending...The future for anime on CN is looking very very sad!
 
You are the wrong target audience. Unlike the originals, the PPGZ were made with a younger, female Magical Shojo public in mind. The kind that watches Magical Doremi and the like.
 
I did not know that, that's very interesting.

Ive always thought that if this ever aired in America, old fans of PPG would find it a bastardization of the original show (it kind of is actually).
 
I've seen the first english dubbed PPGZ before, and it was horrible, mo-jo sounRAB nothing like himself, and as for the show itself, it isnt exactly "faithful" to the original series, but its likeable, if you get passed the fact that its PPG.
 
Powerpuff Girls Z episodes 1-21 are a bit questionable, but everything from Him's first appearance onward get progressively better and better, until it becomes on-par to the original pre-movie episodes.

Really, it's not as bad as it looks or as people say it is. It just took until the halfway point to get a strong foothold.
 
The show was more like other animes like Pretty Cure (another Toei Animation show) and Tokyo Mew Mew for examples than the original Powerpuff Girls.
 
Hating something because it's not like "the original" is silly. It doesn't matter what the original is, just which one is better. That being said, I found PPGZ generic, bland, and offered nothing we haven't seen before. Then again, I'm not into those types of shows in the first place so I would probably say that about all similar shows.

PPGZ is not even close to what Precure is. The original PPG seems like the base for Precure. Tough girls that can fight.

I have never actually watched this show before. But from things that other people have told me, and using somethings that people in this thread have said, it seems to be an alright show. It's not mind-blowing or anything like that but it seems to be watchable.
