The play should be whistled dead in college football?

When a players knee touches the ground in college football the play is dead.Why is the play not whistled dead when the holder of extra points touches the ball? His knee is down.
 
No you can't unless the holder fumbles the ball. How is catching the ball and holding it for the kicker to kick it lack of possession? It's just a rule. When your knee hits the ground the play is over.
 
1)You fail.
2)And if you wanted to get technical you could argue that the holder doesn't haven't complete possession(I mean the ball is on the ground) therefore the ball remains live.
