The Pink Panther

Beyonce puts me off wanting to watch this aswell, she was crap in the Austin Powers movie, so i expect much of the same from her in this.

Steve Martin was a really good film with Claire Danes in 'Shopgirl' it may remind you a little of Lost in Translation, but it shows he can still turn in a credible performance every now and then.

Very dissapointing for me also. The slapstick routines you could see coming a mile off, certain sequences were clearly over done to the point of not being funny anymore, and the accent he adopted for the role was'nt very clear, i found myself wondering what he was saying half the time. The best moments are in the trailer! just watch that for 30 seconRAB and save your money.

There is no-one in Hollywood that could walk in Peter Sellers' shoes.

They will stoop to any depths nowadays. Where's the originality?

An embarrassing moneyspinner.

Totally agree! i recommend buying the original if you havent already seen it, probably get it cheaper than the entrance fee to the new one anyway...then spend the extra on popcorn and soft drinks. Sorted. ;)

Watched the original on More 4 at the weekend (after seeing the Steve Martin one at the cinema on Saturday).

Thought the original was dire. David Niven had top billing, and the sight of him as the romantic lead was quite stomach-turning for a start. Clouseau wasn't funny at all - any humour seemed to depend on him tripping over things and falling over. I seem to remember the other PP films being better than that one, though.

I thought the new PP was fairly entertaining; not the greatest film I've ever seen, but amusing enough. Steve Martin's comic timing is perfect, and I find there's something really endearing about him - he just makes me smile somehow. I thought Beyonce was ok - she's very beautiful, obviously, but there's a charm and a niceness about her that shines out.
