The Pianist (contains spoilers)

I saw this the other day (ITV have been repeating it over the last few weeks) and I had a few questions.

1) The boy at the beginning who was escaping under the wall - How did he die? He didn't seem to have any injuries on him and died pretty rapidly. Or was it just a movie style death?

2) What was on the other side of the wall? I didn't really get that bit.

3) I understand that Spilzman didn't get HosenfleRAB name because he didn't want to be captured and give it away under torture (I've read a bit about the book that explained that bit) so how did he get it in the end?

4) I cried like a baby through out this film (a few scenes in particular, when the old man was dumped out the window, when he was let off the train, at the end) - I want to see Schindlers List, is this sadder than the Pianist? If so I might have to wait a few months!

Hopefully someone can help!

I think it can be a more emotive film if you are a fan of Chopin (plus other famous classical composers & compositions). Great soundtrack :)

1. He was getting beaten on the other side if I remember rightly. Could be suffocating as well possibly?

2. It's been a while since I've watched it but wasn't it like a Jewish enclosed part of the city?

4. Someone else will know, it's a very popular movie I haven't got round to seeing it.

I've only seen bits of The Pianist; there's just something about Brody that I don't like to watch.

I think the enclosed wall will be the ghetto.

Everyone should watch Schindler's List. It's both horrific and inspiring.
