For my physics class we watched Apollo 13 about the astronauts coming ~137 miles off the moons surface and failing to land. Now, We've been asked to write a paper on the motion of a space craft that leaves earth towards any planet in our solar system. We're supposed to use our knowledge of motion, Newton's laws, friction, momentum, kinetic energy, etc. to describe the motion. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start, or have any references I can read up on for this information? Thanks!
