The Phantom of The Opera on DVD

And I really loved those open shirts they gave him. Gave us a nice view of his rather sexy manly chest :D :D :D . He was devestatingly sexy when he took Christine through the mirror and at the point of no return.

I cannot believe Im talking like this Lol!! :o

Has anyone ever read the original story by Gaston Leroux?? Ive been looking for it for years, since I first saw the stage show. Apparently its out of print but I'd love read it because I know there have been so many different versions of the story made over the years. It'd be nice to see what the original story was like.

Yes, I would too. I know people who have read it so I'll make sure I ask them. Surely theres some form of a copy/interpretation online from the original text?

The book shouldbe easy to get hold of. I got mine off of Amazon a couple of years ago.

The thing is that there are actually 3 different english translations of the book, all of which have pros and cons and some of which are out of print.

Did you know when writing the book Leroux actually based alot of the events that happen in the story on true life incidents. The Opera Populaire is very much based on the Paris Opera House, sometime during the 19th Century a Chandelier actually fell on the audience during a peformance and killed several people. Christine is actually based on a real life opera singer also called Christine. Just like in the story Christine's father was a swedish violinist who died when she was young, she also married a Vicount.

Also under the paris Opera House there are very deep foundations and cellars, the land on which it was built was marsh land from the river Seine. Causing some of them to flood and and have underground rivers and lakes. Hence the river that the phantom takes Christine along in a boat. Also they were so vast that people said someone could live under the opera house and no one would ever know. :D

Its led alot of people to think that POTO is a true story, but sadly The Phantom never existed. :( sobs.

Hmmm, it seems I'm going to have to get hold of this. :)

I'm so looking forward to POTO dvd, though the 2 RABic cd is basically the movie without the pictures isn't it?

Well yes of course! When I first read your post I thought you meant about POTO + was like.... huh!?

Lol No, as if I'd say POTO was awful! No Dracula 2000 is utterly dreadful, I don't even know why I bothered watching it to be honest. There was nothing else on.
