It charges up via the Wii USB port. Ive never heard of these, they are on Ebay or direct.

Can someone tell me how many batteries 1 remote takes? I want to buy these ready.

hmm, musta mis-read then

i can't see the point of these anyway
they won't hold a charge for as long
they recharge like a normal battery (i guess)

the only "neat" thing about it is they can be charged through usb

The benefit? lol you dont need to buy another battery ever again for the remotes.

They last 30% longer than standard rechargable batteries. They have more power in them.

But yeah the point is they can be recharged via USB using the Wii console.

now if the remote plugged into the wii, and the batteries charged that way, it would make ...........

no, sorry, still wouldn't make sense, cus then you're still charging them normal way

if the ONLY benefit is to charge them via usb, and they don't hold a charge as long as a normal rec. aa battery, then it's still pointless

rather have a normal recharger and batt. for this kind of thing
these would be "last resort" or emergency batteries only

Guys guys...the main point of these batteries is they can be charged in ANY USB powered port.

Thats all they are good for. Maybe its not handy for some people but alot of people have portable USB devices. It saves money on buying a recharger too.

I choose to recharge my phone via my PC USB, its just easier than getting out the plug.

$20 for two 1300 mAh batteries? that doesn't leave you with anything to use while the batteries are being charged, either.

you can get four 2500 mAh batteries + charger for the same price.

Link please to 2500mah batteries?

But it isnt impractical...Its portable, each battery can be powered from any USB device. Seems handy in alot of situations. Normal batteries need a socket and a recharger which is compatible with it.

One cheap USB hub > 4-8 batteries being charged up. Saves you buying a recharger.

No it isnt but the recharger device for these batteries is readily available in every Wii console.

I saw those Energizer batteries in a pack that included a charger, 4 AAAs, and 8 AAs for $24.95 at Sams Club last night.

One thing you should take into account is that USB devices will need to be plugged into a wall outlet to derive power from them usefully, or else you'd just be draining the power from your device twice as fast, which is hardly practical. With that said, the case of the battering needing a socket is probably more convenient than you think being that wall sockets are everywhere and USB ports are not. Add to that the fact that better batteries in higher quantities can be had for a more reasonable price WITH a dedicated charger...well, it's quite plain to see what's more practical.

The review I read on them said they were horrible.
The problem is that a USB port doesn't make a good charging dock. It doesn't put out enough juice. I forget if the review said that the batteries didn't last long or if it said the charge took forever.

Bottom line is that rechargeable batteries are cheap and at any Wal-Mart.

So $30 ish? Thats a bit of a difference in price...like more than double.

All I know is I choose to use a USB charger for my phone because its a fuss to get out my plug and take up a socket which doesnt even charge up as fast. Less cables too.

Its more convenient to charge via USB on your Wii which is right in front of you than to get out a chunky recharger, take up a socket if there is 1 available.

Theres a USB port readily available on every next gen system, why not put it to use?

$12 for 2 of these batteries and no need for a charger. I cant find a better deal than that.
