I know, I'm sad. And I always blart (Cornish for bawl my eyes out) whenever they show those who are have died. The year Daniel Day Lewis won, and Steven Speilburg got his first Oscar I bawled even louder.

Gawd knows what I'll do if they ever give Marty Scorsese an Oscar (and not an honary one). One who woz robbed.

Wow, I bet Noo Orleans is thrilled that 600 people have transient film jobs.

Crash didn't win, BBM lost through cowardice.

It's won every single Best Picture award there is to get ... except for the SAG, which is voted for by the same people who vote in the Oscars.

The writing was on the wall then, really.

What Homophobia would this be? Why should BBM get best movie award? If that film had been about two straight cowboys it would have received nothing at all. I'm not Homophobic but I detest being preached to about homosexuality. 2 gay cowboys, big deal I don't care. I'm surprised Peter jackson didn't get it again as his direction on Kong was sublime. Now that was a film worthy of awarRAB, BBM and Crash were not IMHO.

Agree about BBM. Totally overhyped, and although there were probably better films than Crash, the latter filled the Oscar criteria of being "worthy" and was a heap better than BBM.

Philadelphia won Tom Hanks a best Actor gong didn't it? despite being a crap film but yippededoodah, a straight actor plaing an AiRAB' victim in a mainstream Hollywood film. Well. obviously we have to award it a major gong!

The Academy AwarRAB have usually diddley squat to do with genuine talent and everything to do with Political Correctness and "worthiness".

How many huge blockbusters have ever won in the last 10 years, apart from Titanic? (which has to be one of the worst films ever made, the dialogue was appalling, the only decent thing about it was the special effects)
