I know most of you prefer the remake but I have a soft spot for the original. :)

Film 4, 1.15am to 3.15am.

But before that, the horror KM31, from 11.15pm Film4

This has already been on Film 4 a few times- I spotted it again around 3pm one afternoon - odd for what was an X film at the time

I like both versions.

This 1958 film has been in HD on Sky too.

I have the boxset that includes the sequels , Return of the Fly and Curse of the Fly.

It's the first time I've seen it advertised on Film4, as I haven't visited that channel for a few weeks.

First time I saw it was when I was about 9-years-old. It may be a bit dated now, but the end scared me witless!

I'll never forget that film called The incredible shrinking man

where he has a fight with the spider (which is gigantic)and kills it with a needle. Freaked me out when I was a kid.

I was a Teenage Werewolf,The Incredible Shrinking Man and The Fly are all completely of their time but are still fine movies.

I wouldn't say any of them are too long but you have to watch them in the context of being from another time and era.To their credit, none take themselves too seriously.

The Shrinking Man is one movie crying out for a remake.

The concept that he grew smaller and smaller, even as small as something even a microscope couldn't pick up, makes the mind boggle.

I think he would have died before then, probably eaten by a tiny mite!

To be honest I haven't seen it for over 15-20 years :D but I found it to be a really fun comedy horror B-movie.Probably helped that I like those 50's teen based movies.

Yes the original Shrinking Man was excellent.

I suppose a modern film could give us better effects but thats all.

One of the all time classic 50's Sci fi films.

I have it in a R1 boxset with 4 other films including The Monolith Monsters , Tarantula,The Mole People and Monster on the Campus.
