The Only Way is Essex

I'm from Loughton (went to school with Mark :o) and I can safely say if you followed myself & frienRAB around with a camera it would be a very different show! Yeah, Loughton & surrounding areas have people like that in it, but there is so much more to it!!
I watch the show on the basis I can go 'Oh I know that place!' I worked as a saturday girl in the hairdressers shown last night, oh yeah! :o:D

Me too, It came on after something else I was watching, and I found myself just sitting there...absolutely mesmorised  the hair, the polished faces, the outifts, it was all so HIGH maintenance... where DO they find the time.. lol lol lol

p.s. the Lipstick sales in Essex must be alarmingly high.. every one of them had LAYERS of the stuff, is this in order to catch a bloke, and stick to him.. lol lol

Thanks but in all honesty, if people are idiotic enough to seriously think that the WHOLE county (and let's face it, it is pretty big and diverse) are the same as the dozen or so portrayed in this programme then they are not worth worrying about.

I suppose its a typical trait in that we always want to think that where we live is better than (nearly) everywhere else; that the people in 'your' neighbourhood are fine and upstanding with the attitude that "none of that malarky goes on around here". Well sorry to burst your bubble but the reality is that pretty much the same 'type' of people in this programme are seen in most cities and towns up and down this country albeit with a different accent !

Don't be ridiculous. There are people like that in Essex as there are in every other county but to they make up over half the population is just stupid and I'm not even from Essex.
Try coming to some towns in Kent. There are people here that make this lot look like rank amateurs.

And don't kid yourself, you've got as many of them in Herts as anywhere else

The acting is terrible, the girls are fake, the guys are way too up themselves, everything seems so staged, but for some reason I love this show.:o

...and the fake eyelashes, and bum-skimming skirts....

The only thing that kind of bothered me was my overwhelming urge to stomp over the Lauren and hiss, 'dignity girl, dignity!" as she sat transfixed by her ex's swaggering showing off at that club, hissing into her Pina Colada before erupting into a truly cringe-making screech scene in front of the entire club.

Then I realised I was talking to a TV set :o

Was liking Lauren but, in tonight's show, I went off her. She was focusing on his new girlfriend and saying she was ugly and then went up to them and started to make remarks about the girls age and did she have to show I.D. Shes looking pitiful and a bit like a stalker.

:D Love it

I'm a Margate boy - so trust me i know these people :p

I can't resist winding the Essex people up though, and I don't know what they are up in arms about anyway! Everyone i know absolutely loves the show.

My EXACT thoughts and the thoughts of people on my facebook, they all liked Lauren until tonight. I thought how she reacted was childish and horribly towarRAB Lucy. Calling her UGLY?? I'm sorry, but I think Lucy, along witj Jessica are by far the most gorgeous girls on the show... shame that Lucy is going out with a twit like Mark!!

I thought Lauren's comment about Lucy's age was also uncalled for, Lucy looked like a confused little puppy, she did nothing wrong at all.

you weren't alone Honey, I cringed at that too, all seemed very staged though...

do these people have real feelings or what? Does Lauren truly love that Mark bloke? if so, when he was offering marraige and a future, why not take it, even if it's rubbish.. becuase she's not moving on either is SHE??? lol lol

I dunno! :D I think they're all clueless and live in a fantasy world. The only one who talked sense was that grandmother of Mark's - or Nan - giving out her sound advice as she ironed his shirts!
