The Only Way is Essex

Oh there are people that stupid. I've had someone on this very website telling me ALL Essex people are the same, the stereotype is true for the whole of essex, the entire county has a hint of thug about it and that I'm deluding myself if I think any different. :confused:

That's why this programme is so annoying because there are a minority of people who will now be saying 'told you so'.
 
Its rubbish. Bad acting... and clearly they have been told to say/do things. Its not exactly reality tv really isit?
No where as good as jersey shore.
 
North Essex is rural, and very different to the media version of Essex which seems to be based on the areas adjoining London.
 
Is anyone watching this crazy programme? I'm not sure if it's real or what? do those people really LOOK like that? :eek: and the girl with the dark hair, Amy I think, she Looks SounRAB and dresses like Jordan? is she related? :eek:
 
The part of North Essex that I grew up in has made a number of serious attempts to get re-boundaried into Cambridgeshire, so ashamed are they of their southern cousins :eek: :o
 
I grew up in Brentwood.

Back in my day, the Sugar Hut was more of an indie-rock-pub, called TJ's. It was trying to compete with The Castle, which the Sam's crowd have also stolen.....
 
Laughable these people on the defensive. Fact is it describes over half the county's inhabitants - townie's mecca. As long as they stay out of HertforRABhire i'm happy.
 
I've watched a bit of episode one (the PC turned off by itself halfway through!) but I loved it :D

However, i'm a little confused...is it acting or what? It looks like acting but apparently its 'a real life soap' :confused:

I watched it. Not quite sure why I did. Horrified fascination I think.

Did that girl actually not know who 'writes dictionaries'?

Her deadpan confusion and bewilderment when she found out that 'Essex Girl' was not a compliment was hilarious, as was her sublime ignorance of what a dictionary really was - and who wrote dictionaries.

Her 'as 'e ever bin to Essex then?" question made me splutter with laughter.
 
Have to tell you I have loved this exchange :D You've given me such a great insight into real Essex. I wish someone would commission a prog made by real Essex people about this particular crowd which gives them such a bad name. With your sense of humour and knowledge you'd make a brilliant 'observers'!
 
They are VERY strange people; you've got possibly one of the most vile men on TV (Mark as if I need to explain who), Amy with the trowel loaRAB of make up and permanent pout (even when she 'laughs', very strange Sam who has the weirdest face I've ever seen on someone who is supposed to be attractive, Arge who lacks so much confidence he has to hang out with a complete t*sser so some of his rubs off on him, Nanna Pat who I'm not even gonna comment on :eek:... and that ridiculous looking gay guy who must really pee off gay guys who don't want to be stereotyped.

Personally I'm not silly enough to think these are how all Essex people are, but I feel bad for those living in Essex coz a lot of people will believe these people portray ALL Essex people. :rolleyes:
 
I think the follow up should be make in HertforRABhire....they could call it the Kings and Queens of Herts. :p

I'm guessing the whole thing is a ruse to bag lauren and mark a celebrity-style-paid-for-by-OK-Wedding.

This is the vehicle they need to catapult themselves into the limelight.

The bits that made me laugh we where Mark either had to tell us, or get his friend to ask him, so he could then tell us, how much everything he was buying cost.

What a tool!

And was tonight's a new one or a repeat, haven't been watching it live so can't remember if it's Saturdays and Wednesdays or Sundays and Wednesdays.
