The One Show

I Love the one show now Christine and Adrian have been replaced by Alex and Jason.

I am a massive fan of Jason and he is making my average evening really good.

Alex I think is a perfect presenter but isnt really warming to the show as much as I thought she would.

But saying that her and Jason have so much chemistry between them and them two are brilliant better than Adrian and Christine were.

But look at Adrian and Christine now, There new show that they ditched the best daytime show for is now a flop, and The one show will be brill for an hour next week. Fills the gap on a monday and wednesday for the half hour inbetween Eastenders and Waterloo

It's always been this way. The One Show guests are there for one reason, to promote a product. They throw in questions to make it look like they're guests, but they're only there to promote a product. It's either a book, a new show.. whatever.

The producers pack in a lot of items into the schedule and the problem occurs when a guest decides to talk for a long time or gives a detailed answer.. suddenly they're thrown off schedule and they've got to get onto the next item so it often happens that the guest will either be cut off mid story or simply ignored.

But at the end of the day that's the nature of the show. The guests aren't there to tell their life story.

I'll agree that he doesn't really bring anything to the party really. I like his radio show but won't watch the One Show.

When I say like I mean tolerate. Well, when I say tolerate I mean listen because it's the best of a really bad bunch at breakfast time.:D

Regarding The One Show IIRC Manford wanted weekenRAB off to see his family and one day a week for his current tour.

So all the fuss about Evans taking over the Friday show worked out well in that regard.

Foody Friday is a regular segment but in general that is the nature of the show.
Pretty much sums it up. I don't see it as 30 minutes viewing. It's 30 minutes of channel hopping if there is nothing else on and depending on the guests or the reports.

The diverse mix of interesting items IS the appeal of the show. It's certainly not the guests. Example - the ongoing series of moving films about unsung heroes of WWII.

Didn't watch it when Christine and Adrian were on, it just didn't appeal. Have seen a snippet on two occasions since the replacements and agree that the woman (Alex?) doesn't let guests finish before interrupting/moving on to something else and Manford is just poooooooooooooooooooor. Not good at all at presenting. Very amateurish, looks as though he's on a work experience trial.
