The Omega Man 1971 Charlton Heston

I have only seen this film once and am going to watch it again some time this week.

But its quite a good film.
If you like I am Legend then you should like this one to.

To be honest, you should all just cut to the chase and read Matheson's "I Am Legend". It's one of my favourite books ever, and they've never quite got it right movie-wise.

Has anyone seen 'The Last Man on Earth' with Vincent Price in the star role? First adaptation of the book essentially, from the mid-60s. As I recall it was spaghetti-sci-fi and not all that good. There was another version released after I am Legend called I am Omega, but I never saw that.

Out of the three I've seen, I prefer the Omega Man, just because it's more tense. I am Legend was good, but as always, Will Smith tried a bit too hard to not be Will Smith, if that makes any sense.

"The Last Man on Earth" follows the book reasonably closely.
"The Omega Man" is damaged by becoming an action movie halfway through and "I Am Legend" should've been called "Invasion of the Point Missers".:)

Omega Man is a decent film for it's time but they've still yet to make a truly great film of the I Am Legend novel. The book is a complete masterpiece.
