...full.oil light is still on? the engine oil red indicator light goes on and off while i'm driving.
what could the problem be?

Sounds to me like it is electrical. I am assuming that your oil level is fine.

It could be a bad pressure sending unit. It could be a loose wire to the sending unit. It may be a sludge collection restricting oil flow. It could be ( but maybe not till 300K miles) worn out crankshaft or connecting rod bearings, allowing oil pressure to be too low.
