This is the speculation thread for the upcoming movie from RAI Fiction, and Rainbow (And 4Kids when it comes out in the states): Winx Club: The Movie

Thanks to Delia for giving me the "okay" to do this thread.

The same rules for the Winx episode talkbacks still apply here...

Now discuss away!

WARNING: Possibile Spoilers ahead!

Why does this get a movie but W.I.T.C.H. gets cancelled? Stupid rip offs putting other shows out of business.

*walks away muttering to self* ;)

I dont see what the big deal is. I'm a big Winx fan AND a big Witch fan. Why is it you can't like both? If one is a rip off from the other, then by all rights, you should enjoy both. Those who truly believe winx is a ripoff of Witch, then those people would believe both series are the same, therefore would like both. But if they like it, they wouldnt be calling them a ripoff, thus contradicting the whole point. Did i confuse anyone? good, cuz i confused myself.

As for watching the trailer, I dont know how I'll like it being that its in 3D. And the voices are like.. meh. I guess i'm too used to the voices in the series. It looks like the Coven witches are gonna be in the movie too. Lastly, my favorite comment already, "Take another step and you will never take another step." (its just the way they said it, is why its so funny.)

Winx caught on in America; W.I.T.C.H. didn't. I'm not saying that's fair, but that's the way it happened. Disney bungled their job of handling W.I.T.C.H.'s US debut by underwhelming promotion and support, and by airing it at graveyard times when very few people actually got to see it. Winx basically won by default.

Oh, yay. Let's start our discussion with a topic that's been so run into the ground, it's popped out the other side of the planet.

How 'bout we actually stay on topic with this thread and discuss the movie?

I'm curious about what form it will take in the States. I've got my money on DVD release.

Will we get the usual voice team or the English voices heard in the trailers? It won't be the same without our usual team, so I'm hoping for that.

And Bloom had frellin' well better be reunited with her parents. I'm actually getting sick of hearing about it.

My thoughts on the movie, from what I've seen:

Even in 3-D computer animation, I think the characters STILL look fantastic!:D

I also really hope the American VAs will do the voices when, hopefully next Spring, the movie comes to the U.S. I will admit, Stella's British VA sounded a lot better.:) Of course, I still would like Kerry Williams to play Flora one last time. She had such a sweet voice!:anime:

I also thought the dialogue at the end of the current trailer was very nail-biting!

I think I would really enjoy this movie!:) :D

I've seen the trailer and the movie does look pretty interesting. The 3D affects look awsome and I heard that the companies put in a lot of money to make the movie 3D. I think that the movie will probably be released on DVD and maybe air a bit before or after it gets released. I would actually would prefer having the 4Kids voice actors do this movie. It would be a shame for them to not play their roles in this movie, after doing this show for a few years. Besides that, I'm more use to their voices than the other English speaking cast.

I'm sorry Darcy, but I MUST deviate for a second, and say this...

People are STILL doing this? I determined back in 2004 when W.I.T.C.H. first came to America the shows were NOT similar.

In fact, you can read about it for yourself...

NOW...

As for the movie being in 3D, movies based on animated shows will OFTEN use more detailed animation style for the movie... Like TMNT for example. I'm just glad it's an animated show that has an animated movie! Too many show-based movies go live-action and deviate way too far from the original formula.

Please keep it to topic, and be respectful of other posters. While everyone is free to have an opinion, posting that opinion should be done in a polite manner.

As for it getting a movie, I figure some company fronted the money because they figured the project would be a popular film, based off how the show did.

Well I did stop myself before I got into a W.I.T.C.H./Winx rant if that's any consolation. But you're right, I shouldn't have posted at.

It's just that I saw W.I.T.C.H. as a "way forward" for American TV animation in terms of continuity, plot, and writing quality that hasn't been done since Gargoyles.

Sorry, again. Hope you guys enjoy your movie.

From what I saw, W.I.T.C.H. was very good. The hard part for me was separating it from the comics and viewing both as different entities, since they are so very different. But people can enjoy two shows and some basic similarities don't make one a rip off of the other. If you do some research, they're really very different properties.

So W.I.T.C.H. was good. Yes. I too wish it had continued, especially because some of the newer comic storylines would have made excellent episodes or even movies. But don't hate Winx or snip at Winx fans because W.I.T.C.H. didn't last. Some of us are fans of both shows, after all.

Now back on topic, are there any characters you want to see make a cameo in the movie? I'm really hoping they show Mirta. She hasn't done much of anything since Season 1 and it was such a tease to show her in fairy form in Season 3 and then not do anything with her.
