The Official Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan Thread

I don't think he meant Frank Black breaks into recording studios and pee's on people. Im almost certain he meant they were vastly more talented than the banRAB listed.

I think Mellon Collie added more colors to their pallette too, but I don't find Siamese Dream boring for a one bit... Silver**** is a bit drwam out though, I gotta agree there...

I really like SP and last week I finally got to see Billy Corgan and the new band he's got (cause it's not Smashing Pumpkins even though the ticket said that!!) and I was a bit dissapointed. The band sounRAB great (the drummer is excellent) and the "old" songs were amazing, but the new songs just don't seem to convince me (nor most of us there). Have you heard them? He's uploaded them in his website.

Well if it totally falls flat on its face Billy Corgan always has his poetry to fall back on

I kid, years ago I use to be the most rabid Smashing Pumkins and Billy Corgan fan I knew. I spent over $1000 on guitar equipment trying to emulate his sound. I use to listen to Melon Collie & the Infinite Sadness religiously and nearly shat myself when I found a Siamese Dreams tab book for guitar. I always knew in the back of my mind that Billy Corgan was a massive control freak with as large an ego which contributed largely the dissolving of the band and sour relationships between the merabers. I just didn't want to believe that someone who could write such beautiful music could also be that much of a douche, but one day I finally just accepted the fact and the music became less meaningful and important to me. Kind of an odd story, however I just don't want to come across as a SP hater.

I didn't get a chance to read much of this post...but please tell me I'm not the only person who likes Adore? I think it's pretty underrated.

Yeah, Disc 1 has 2-3 bad songs, while the second side is flawless. ALthough when I was a kid I really hated 'Lily' and 'By Starlight', which Ive grown to appreciate more.

I agree, but it is definitely still good though. One of the best double albums of all time as far as double albums go. Adore is criminally underrated.

I bet in 6 months time they'll release a 'special edition' with all the tracks plus a few 'previously unreleased' tracks to bump it up to 2 discs.

I was right to disown this band when I did.
